Q- How did you get started as a florist?
A- ”I spent a lot of time being just creative, designing things, enjoying things. Coloring and painting were not my thing. Then, I found flowers, and they were something that you could deal with the colors and manipulate them to create a beautiful array, and it took off from there. I took some classes and really enjoyed what I was doing and realized that I understood the fundamentals without being taught them.
Q- What is your favorite part about being a florist?
A- ”My favorite part about being a florist is the flowers. But truly the best part about being a florist is the interaction with the brides, from start to finish, working with them, hearing about what their dreams are, and bringing that to a reality, and it really has been a wonderful journey.”
Q- What kind of events do you usually do?
A- ”Primarily, I do weddings. COVID has made it so they are now micro weddings, which have been awesome and the brides love them, and I see how happy the brides are just to be getting married and finding the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with. I do other events, but the weddings are what I really love.”
Q- How many events do you do a year?
A- 30-50 weddings a year, in addition to all the other smaller events I love.
Q- What are some of your favorite locations?
A- ”I love Cape Cod, and really my focus has always been, being in Popponesset and New Seabury area. During COVID, I was offered the opportunity to go to so many beautiful places. I was able to go to The Inn at Castle Hill, The Mount Washington Hotel, to Wentworth by the Sea. All of them are great, because they all include the brides that let me do the things that I love to do.”
Q- What are your goals for the upcoming year?
A- “My goals for 2021 are to get all my 2020 brides married! To really be able to get back out there, to see the photographers, the DJ’s and the band’s that I love. To go back to all my favorite venues and really see people happy!”
